I arrived!

Wooo hooo! I arrived safe and sound. Even though my flight was a we bit delayed. I am good. It was so nice and so wonderful to see my family. My mom, dad, and my sisters were there waiting for me. I just could not believe that they were there.
I missed them so much!
I know that they were praying for me and supporting me a long the way.
I also want to thank those of you who helped me with cards, knowledge, Bible verses, prayers, and support. May the LORD Bless you!
Take care and GOD Bless!

Wednesday-My last day

Today is my last day in Hong Kong. And let me tell you what.
I have learned many things. Met so many different people and loved so many of them.
I still do. :)
The girls and I hung out today. We went to the flower market which was very nice. I loved seeing so many different kinds of flowers. The girls were surprised that I knew a lot of flowers. But I only knew a few. They smelled sooo good.
Then we went to a Panda Bear Cafe. It was a nice cute place but nothing too wow about. But it was still nice. We had fun anyways. :D
I loved being with the girls. They are so much fun and you can tell that they love the LORD so much and they want to serve him.
Then we went to the flat, played some games and talked. Then we went around and told how we appreciated each other and how much were going to miss each other. We were almost in tears. :( But we got through it and we laughed and then we prayed. What a sweet and kinds prayer it was from one of the girls. She prayed in Cantonese.
It was translated for me. It was very nice.
Then we laughed and played more games and took more pictures.
I will miss them sooo very much. But I feel that one day we will meet again. :)
Please continue on praying for these girls and their families and the family that I have been staying with for the past couple of weeks. Also my eye is so much better now. Thank you. Also please pray for a safe and quick flight for me. I have a 8 hr layover. So please pray that it will go by fast and that everything would go great.
Thank you again for your times and prayers.
Love always

Tueday-Krystal left

Today I said good-bye to Krystal. It was sad. But I didn't cry. I thought I would but I didn't.
We talked a little before she had to go. It was nice.
Then after that we went back to the flat and I took a nap. It was nice. I needed it since I could not get to the sleep the past couple of nights. My eye hurts still but not that bad. It seems like a have a headache for a while. But I know I will be fine. I already took something for it. Thanks to Krystal. :)
Thank you for praying for my eye. :) It feels a lot better now.
Also the girls came over and we played games and had some fun.
Thank you for your prayers

Monday-Krystals Last Day

Monday was a relaxing day. We all ate out for lunch and enjoyed the day.
Then later on, the girls came over. To say goodbye and to hang out with Krystal.
We had a fun time together and we enjoyed the time spent with one another. It was great.
We played Blitz. Which is a card game and kind of like Skip-O.
We also went around and told Krystal how much me appreciated her and why. We told her good things and we will miss her.
Then the day was over as soon as it came. :(

The last Sunday

Today was my last Sunday here. My roommate and I gave our testimonies. They went very well. We were both very moved. I hope at least someone was touched. Which I am sure about. :D
I love the fact that everyone in the Church Body is mostly Filipino women who are just filled with the love of CHRIST. The moment when I first walked into the church. You can just feel the presence of GOD there. You could just sense HIS presence and know that HE is working into their lives.
I will miss Hong Kong. Mostly the people who I met along the way. I gave into the girls, because in order of us to better keep in touch they all wanted me to get facebook. So I did.
Thank you all again for your prayers and support.
Take care and GOD Bless!

Saturday-At the Beach

Today everyone met at the Beach that was apart of VBS and those who helped out, the parents, and of course the kids.
We rented a nice big bus to transport everyone to the beach.
The beach was full of people, but we found a spot. Actually two, one for the food and the other close to the water so we could watch the kids.
We all had a blast! The kids behaved oh so well. :D
I am so proud of them and you can see the happiness in their eyes.
I am going to miss them so very much! I don't think that I can forget them.
The kids hardly ever go to the beach or don't go at all until everyone gets together to go. Some of the kids do not have their parents to look after them because the work long hours so the kids stay up late and sleep all day because of it.
Most of them have cell phones because of that. Please pray for these kids for they have no guidance from the parents and for them not to wander away from the LORD.
These kids need more guidance and help not only from the family that I have been staying with but from their brothers and sisters in CHRIST as well. So please pray for them. Thank you.

Friday

Friday was good and not so busy day. We hung out with the girls again today but this day we went shopping. I do not like shopping in general unless needed to. I just like to look and try things on. But I do not like to shop. But I held that all in so I could talk with the girls. One of the girls brought her friend who is not saved with her and she hung out with us. She had a good time. We all invited her to come tomorrow to the Beach with us. She said that she could try. Then we invited her to Church on Sunday.
I told her if she could not make it for the beach then I will cry. I was trying to make her laugh, feel good that people care, and to let her know we want her there.
So we will see. Please continue on praying for these girls and their families and friends. Thank you again.
Take care and GOD Bless!

Pictures

I will not post pictures with the kids or people because I do not feel right about that. But I will post them of me and buildings and landscapes. I hope you enjoy these pictures.
Tell me what you think. I am not even as good as my mom. But I think I am getting better. ;)

Thursday

Today was a relaxing day not busy. We went to a place where a lot of Westerners live and there is not that many people there. I saw Chinese looking kids with blondish hair...that was amazing. The westerners there were all British it seemed so it was a nice experience for me.
Today was a day to look around and relaxed. Today I learned not to take things for granted like I have been. i haven't been home sick until a little bit now. I have been thinking a lot about my family and I wonder what they are doing. But I know the LORD is watching over them.
Also I believe that the LORD has a plan for me....but I do not know it yet.
So I will trust and obey Him.
Thank you again for all your prayers!
Take care and GOD Bless!

Wednesday

Today was Wednesday!
Well to some, your day as begun while mine is coming to an end.
Us girls hung out again and we went to the History Museum which was very educational and then we went out for dinner at one of the girls parents restaurant. The food was good, but they had mostly fish. I ate the beef. Man do I love beef.
I found out that her parents are not Christians and they are not saved. Please pray that the LORD will work into their lives and hearts minds.
Also their sons give them a lot of trouble so pray that they will not do that.
Also can you pray for all of the girls parents because none of them are Christians and they do not know JESUS.
As the days go by I found new thing to pray for and to ask guidance for and that is what we should do. Everyday we live an example of what a Real Christian is suppose to be, and if we do not go out there and witness or even talk to people then what excatly are we living for?
Better said then done right? But pray! Pray, pray, pray! That is what I have learned this week so far. When in doubt pray, when scared pray, when concerned pray, when in confusion pray, and when you walked off the path pray. No matter what we all need to pray. Because prayer helps others in ways we cannot describe and it will help us grow with each other and our LORD.
Thank you again for your prayers and support.

Tuesday

Today was the second day for English International Week.
It was a beautiful day like just about everyday. We went to see a movie because the girls wanted to so we did. Batman. You all might like it. But that is all that I am saying.
Then after that we went to the wet market to buy food for the Hot Pot. A Hot Pot is where they put so many different kinds of food in on pot and people sit around and talk while it cooks.
So that is what we did. My roommate and I shared our testimonies to them. We also told them when and where we got saved and how. They were moved by it and they shared more about themselves. It is so good to know more about these girls and to love them more each day too.
Ii feel the LORD working within me as well as these girls. It has been moving to hear about their stories and to tell us that they are the only ones in their family who believe and their parents think that they are wasting time and money to go to church and to spend time with us this week and last week for helping out for VBS.
So please pray for these girls families that GOD will work in their lives and hearts and that HE will guide and protect them.
Thank you so very much!

Monday-English International Week

Today was the first day of English International week.
It is a whole lot different then what I thought and what I expected it to be.
I am not exactly going out and witnessing to others/community outreach I did that for VBS instead I am helping these young women ages from 17 to 20 years of age to better their relationship with CHRIST. To help them understand CHRIST better I am learning about them and how HE can use their gifts and talents to glorify HIM.
I found out that one of them is very smart in school and one likes art and I was told that I should show her my moms work. And you bet I will!
(Mom, you know how much I like to brag about you! ;D)
The girls have so many activities planned and my roommate and I follow. Today was kind of getting more comfortable with each other so hopefully tomorrow or the next few days not only will they grow but I know that I will grow and I will find out what GOD has planned for me. SO please pray for these girls, for them to let GOD use them in the way HE wants and to open their hearts and minds to HIM as well.
As for me pray that I will have more understanding of these girls here. I need patience, guidance to know what to say and the peace of knowing what I am doing is not all about fun but it is about these girls who need to know GOD more and for myself to know my savior more and to walk in HIS ways more and more each day. Because only HE knows what is best for us and only HE knows our gifts and how we are suppose to use them.
Thank you again for your time and prayers and support.
I want to cry in happiness because I know and I can feel the LORD is protecting me and blessing me. :D
Take care and GOD Bless!
Love and prayers always

Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the LORD with all of your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge HIM and HE will direct your paths."

My favorite verse that I sometimes disregard and not notice or don't read enough because I find myself so much off of the path that HE marked for me and my flesh does not want to know it or to realize it.
Even if you think your way is best. Its not. OR
If you think something is going to go one way then GOD decides to put you on another path, do not question HIM. Simple as this: JUST DO IT!
Pray about it, think about and you will have a understanding as to why GODS way is always best. :)

Sunday

Well today was Sunday. It was the closing of VBS. It went by too fast today and of course I wish that we could do it again next week but I am kinda of glad because I am not quite sure if I could make it. ;)
Today was not that busy of a day. Besides the fact that we had some what of a hard time finding a parking spot because we took a co-workers car because of all the stuff that we had to take back and carry. But it was fun!
I enjoyed it. We had lunch with funny, outgoing, and amazing Filipino women. They are so much fun. They told me that I was beautiful because I am pale and natural.
Hey sisters! Paleness is popular here! The more pale the more beautiful you are.
But you will be considered pale against them as well. ;)
The food that they made this week was good like last week. I had so much fun with them this week and last. They are excited that they will be seeing me again next week.
As for the VBS ceremony the sideshow, awards, and the sermon was very good.
I enjoyed them.
Now for this week the woman that I am rooming with and I will be haviong English International week. Meaning that we teach them a few things and they teach us. We give them lessons of our culture and they give us theirs.
It will be fun and I know that I will be learning a lot from them. I will also try to take some notes. Maybe I can speak real Cantonese when I get home. :D
Thank you again for your prayers and support.
Love always

Saturday

Well since there is no more VBS we all went out to have some fun and to be rewarded for our hard work. We went to Stanley Market and it was fun I got a few things at good prices. I'm sorry but I had to get an outfit that is amazing. Well I think it is but probably not everyone.
Also on the way there and back we saw a beautiful view of the mountains and the ocean.
With my luck I did not get a good view so I asked one of the guys to take pictures for me. He did and he did a good job. Not too bad.
Then after the market we went to a mall(Which is huge!) that has an ice skating ring in there.
We ate dinner and then we had ice cream from XTC. I know it sounds bad but it is fresh, all natural, gelato and sorbetto. Don't ask why its called XTC because I don't know.
Then we said our good-byes to the family that I met from Lansing. It was sad because we all have gotten close to each other. But we might see them again. :D
So that sums up Saturday but please pray that Sunday goes very well. :D
Thank you all again for your prayers and support. It means so much to me.
Love and prayers always

Friday

Today was the last day of VBS and man did the time go by! It was been a week since I have been here and it just amazes me.
My kids were very good today and I am thankful and grateful of that and so is everyone else. It seemed as though they did not listen very well at the games. But who did at the ages 7-9? Their attention span is not that big at all. But all the kids are so very wonderful in their own ways. But hey that is o.k.
Well at the end of VBS a few girls did two dances for us in Indonesian. It was beautful and they had colorful outfits. They did a great job.
Then we cleaned up and prepared oursleves for Sunday which is an award day and a day were the kids can tell what they have learned at their time at VBS.
Then we went out to eat at a place where they make real hamburgers. Very good.
Then we went home. Not as busy but it was nice.
I want to thank everyone for their prayers and support.
Take care and GOD Bless!

Thursday

Well for one it was been a week since I have seen my family. Time has gone by so fast for me. I miss them and love them so.
But they are always with me since our LORD is with me and with them as well so I know that they are safe.
We ate at a BK fast food but twisted it into Japanese food made by Chinese. It was good and I tried a mango drink. It had fresh mango with these weird texture balls that tasted good but the texture was not so much. But it was still good.
As for VBS it was so much better than yesterday! The LORD has answered our prayers.
My group of kids were the best behaved kids when they were the worst yesterday.
So the LORD answers.
Then at night a couple of us went to see (people that I am staying with son) him perform in a lounge place. He was very good and he plays the guitar, piano, and the Sax.
He is quite talented. His voice is also very good.
Then we went to have XTC. I know what your thinking. What in the world?!?!?
It is ice cream, Surbert ice cream of many different kinds. I took a pamphlet so I could show you. This is the first place that I actually heard of ice cream. It was good.
Then we went home. We are safe and we all had a great time. I got to know the others working in the VBS and the families here. They are so wonderful. They all have a heart for GOD and they all want to please HIM. I am so thankful that when we all got together we all clicked. It5 was as though we all have known each other for years. It was so amazing. But it was only by the wonderfulness of GOD that we clicked so well.
The families and the teens and adults here are role models of how I want to be as a person and how I want GOD to use me in my own life inside and throughout.
Thank you again for your continued prayers!
Take care and GOD Bless you

Wednesday

VBS was good other than the fact that my group of kids were bad most of the time.
Sure they had their good moments but the rest of the time they were almost impossible.
Well the day was o.k but the night was awesome. We all went to see the city at night!
(I'll post pictures later on)
We got our pictures taken by a "professional". He was pretty funny.
Also we all had a blast looking at the city. It was beautiful. Of course my battery died because I put it on night vision and a high quality. But I took some very awesome pics. Some I wanted to be blurry and some not so much.
Just to let you all know, in HK everyone eats/dines out. So I ate very good food for lunch and dinner. :D
Thank you again! Please pray that we will have a great VBS tomorrow and that everyones heart will be in it.
Take care

Tuesday

Tuesday was again another success for VBS but we lost some kids but gained a few more.
A girl was saved! She accepted Jesus! It was amazing. Please pray for her and ask GOD to lead her and to protect her and work into the lives of her family and friends.
Before VBS we went to another Indian restaurant but the food in my opinion was better. The food was very good. In general the food here is so much better then where I live. But I miss my moms cooking. :D
Then for dinner we ate at the Honey Bee again like we did for lunch on Monday.
Of course it was good. I ate just about everything besides the crab eggs and seed weed. And yes I tried it all. Not my favorite.
Then we went to the Night Market and we brought a few girls to help bargain for us. I got good deals on the things that I bought. I am happy with the items and the prices.
After that we went home.
Please pray that VBS for Wednesday will be better than today.
Thank you again for your prayers and support.
~Courtney

Monday

Monday was our first day of VBS and we had about 30 kids. It was awesome. The kids were well behaved and they listened pretty well.
I am a co-teacher so I tell them a story. The story that I told them was about John the baptist and Jesus. Also about Jesus calming the storm. The time went by very fast.
Later that night we went to a Japanese restaurant called Red Ant. The food was awesome.
I tried eel. It was different.
I didn't eat it all because the bowl of soup was huge! So I asked for take away.
After we got that we went to the flat. But on our way it started to down poor.
As we ran across the road the woman that I am staying with cried "Oh no! Oh now!"
and two guys on motorcycles made fun of us and her. It was funny. They copied her.
The woman that I am rooming with let us use her umbrella because we were waring white.
But we still got wet. Then we stayed up late preparing for VBS. Which was fun.

Sunday

Well today was busy but I loved it! We got ready and we went to Church. Which was a long bus ride but on the way I saw three Monkeys. Yes monkeys. We went by Monkey Mountain they call it. They were sitting on the walls and eating. Very cute.
We ate as well which was good. I had real Filipino food. It was amazing! I had a lot of it. :D Then I went shopping after I ate with a couple of girls. (I wont say any names.)
They had very cute and beautiful items.
Then we had church. It was very moving a family sang and gave testimonies. People here are real and just so friendly. They are real people.
Then after service we set up for VBS. The girl that I am rooming with and I drew flags with the ladies at the Church. I had a blast! They are so funny.
To my artistic sister, they said I am a good drawer. So ha! Beat that!
Well anyway I had a very good time preparing. Tomorrow will be a busy day. :D But fun.
It will be the first day of VBS.
Please pray that everything goes well. That people are safe and that the LORD will be working in our hearts and theirs.
Thank you again for your prayers.
Love always
~Courtney

Yesterday

Yesterday was Friday July 12.
I woke up early and could not get to sleep at all. So yeah my first night here I did not go to sleep.
Well we had preparation for VBS and we got introduced to everyone at 9:30 AM.
Then we broke into our groups that we are going to be in during VBS.
My group got very detailed. Then after that we ate lunch. Which was very good. It was a pasta that was good and toasted bread with ham and cheese. Very good.
Then we went out. We went to see the bud-ha. We road the cable car and it was awesome! The sight was amazing! The mountains are beautiful.
Then we went to eat. I had McDonald's which in my opinion was better than what we had where I live. Then we went to the beach which was my first time in the ocean. We watched fire works from Disneyland. Pretty cool. Then we went on a ferry. My first time on/in a cable car, taxi, subway, ferry, double decker bus, and an airplane.
I have had a crazy past couple of days.
Please pray that we all get some rest and sleep.
Take care
~Courtney

My Flights

When I departed Traverse to go to Detriot the plane flight was 1 hour and it was my first time ever of flying. I said my goodbyes and I was off into the plane. The plane was very small and I had an isle seat. But the gentleman next to me gave me the window seat. We got to talking and I found out that he is a Christian and I told why I was going to Hong Kong. When the plane landed he even helped me find my gate that I needed to go to. I felt so safe. GOD protected me and I felt so touched.
On my way to Toyko from Detriot it was a 13 hour flight and I got a window seat next to the wing but I could still see out of it. Two ladies sat by me. They were sisters and one was adopting a girl from China. They had the same destination, Hong Kong.
They were so nice and I felt comfortable. Another blessing from GOD.
I watched three movies during that flight, Fools Gold, The other Boylen girl, and Over her dead body. Time went by slowly the first two to three hours then after that it flew by.
When I landed in Tokyo it was amazing! They had a cool lobby area and I looked around and I saw a origami museum. It was awesome!
Went I went into the restroom. They had different kinds of toilets. Very intresting.
When I got onto the plane I did not see the family that I was flying with until we left the plane. Which went by fast.
When we all go into line to go into Hong Kong I was asleep so I did not hear that they wanted us to fill out an immigration card. So I had to get out of line and fill it out. They ladies that I sat with helped me and so did the family.
All was well and the family and I went into the visitor pick up and we saw the family that we were going to stay with. Then later the woman that I was going to room with arrived 30 mins later. Both our planes were early.
So we exchanged our US dollars for HK dollars. It looked as though be robbed a bank.
I went ino a store to get something to drink and I saw water bottles for $10.00. I was like "Oh my!" then I realized that the HK dollar is different from the US dollar.
When we left the airport we rode a bus like looked like the London buses but it was yellow. Then from the bus stop we took a taxi. It was my first Bus ride like that and my first taxi ride. (People in HK drive on the opposite side and they are unique drivers.:D)
We got to the flat and we went to bed after we settled down and called our families.
I could not get to sleep, I got about 3-4 hours or less of sleep since I went to bed around 2:30.I tried to get the IM working and the Internet. I gave up on the IM and finally the internet worked.I kept waking up and I got up at 8:00.
So that was my busy day yesterday and before. The time is not weird to me hear. But the sun sets between 8-9 and rises between 5-6 AM.
Please continue on praying for each of us and pray for us to have strength, courage, motivation, love, kindness, tenderness, forgiveness, and guidance.
Please pray that we all we have rest and to better prepare ourselves for what is coming up.
Thank you again! Love and prayers always
~Courtney

PS
Next time I will tell what I did today. :D

1 Day and 1 Week To Go

I have 1 day and 1 week to go until I leave for Hong Kong. I will be leaving TC Airport 11:20 AM Thursday July 10. I will be back Thursday July 31 at 10:32. I will be gone 21 days.
I will post on this blog as though it would be my journal. I will have a regular journal with me so I can write everything down and keep track of everything. I will be busy and I might blog at night. It all depends. :D Thank you for praying for me and keeping me in your prayers. I still need some support and I know the LORD will provide. HE does everything at HIS will and HIS own time. :D
